Spain<\/strong> have climbed back to the summit of the FIFA world rankings<\/strong> for the first time in over a decade, following their triumph at Euro 2024<\/strong>. The achievement marks their return to the top of global football after 11 years, showcasing their resurgence as a dominant force in international soccer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the latest FIFA update released on Thursday, France<\/strong> moved up to second place, overtaking Argentina<\/strong>, who dropped to third after a shock 1-0 defeat to Ecuador<\/strong> in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The reigning world champions, once seen as untouchable, now find themselves under pressure to maintain form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere in the rankings, Portugal<\/strong>, winners of the Nations League<\/strong>, rose to fifth, solidifying their reputation as one of Europe\u2019s most consistent performers. England<\/strong> remained steady in fourth, while traditional giants Brazil<\/strong> were placed sixth. The Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, and Italy<\/strong> rounded off the top ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major talking point, however, was the decline of Germany<\/strong>, who slipped outside the top 10 for the first time in almost a year. Their recent loss to Slovakia<\/strong> proved costly, as Slovakia themselves emerged as the biggest climbers in the rankings, jumping an impressive 10 places to 42nd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
