Kaizer Chiefs star Lebohang Manyama joined on the discussion of the domination of Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership and said that they are the top team in South Africa.
The 30-year-old gathered lately with iDiski Times journalist Velile Mnyandu, who is recuperating slowment from the knee wound that requires surgery.
Manyama also talked on upcoming chiefs in their DStv premiership among many subjects discussed.
What they’ve achieved must be respected.
You must admire the job they have done, the coaches that now are, the players themselves, from coach Pitso Mosimane,” said Manyama when questioned about domination Downs.
“I mean, they’re the top team in the country, without any doubt. And I think all the competing teams, all the teams who are truly, really, with respect for the other teams but who really are actually called contenders and play them like contenders on a weekly basis,
are all aimed at you, that is the level with which you want to play and people with which you want to compete.
They surely presume that the catching team is Sundowns as well.
You don’t just look at them, you have a hard game to play yet, you have twice to go to Cape Town which’s difficult, you still need to go to… You don’t have to respect them.
Unfortunately there’s nothing more in Bloem, you’ve still had tough games, the derby is another game, so you’ve got a lot of games, hard games to play.
“But Sundowns is still the team for everyone else because they definitely are the top team in the country, but you don’t have to look only at them.”
Manyama also congratulated the Sundowns’ strong core, which makes it easier for new players to settle.
Of course they are constant and they have all the money to buy any player they want (laughs) but I think you can purchase all the players they want together,
they are a squad, they have the core in the team, the Mshishi, the Hlomphon’s, the Kermit, their Onyango, the player who’s been there for a long time and the players who won ev.
“This makes it simpler even for those guys who come to watch players who still challenge them to make their team more comfortable.
“And this sort of unity should be a learning experience for other teams so that they can have so many, not star players,
but very, very, very excellent players, who probably will start in any of the PSL teams and continue to play just as well as to appear as united as a game. Taking from them is a huge lesson.”
