Rennes teen Eduardo Camavinga has reportedly signed a contract with Real Madrid.
French club reportedly agrees to €31 million deal for midfielder Camavinga, who has already passed his medical, according to Fabrizio Romano of the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
Last year, he was one of Europe’s hottest young prospects, and he was linked with a move to Manchester United and PSG.
There is a signature on the paperwork. Today is a public holiday in the United States. The loan has been terminated and he will join Real Madrid,” Romano wrote on Twitter. “Camavinga chooses Real Madrid over Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.”
It was possible that the promising teenager would be available for free next season as his contract was coming to an end, so Rennes was eager to listen to any good offers for him in the current window.
Later in the window, Bruno Genesio revealed that Rennes would accept a bid that met the player’s value.
As Genesio told the Metro, “We’ve already made it clear that we can’t afford to stay in this situation with an international player like him.”
There will be important decisions to be made in the course of a player’s career, and his future is one of them, as well as the club’s.
We need to find a solution that everyone is happy with, she said.
Los Blancos are expected to make an official announcement soon after securing the highly-rated France international.
