The Neto UEFA probe was confirmed after the incident involving a ball boy late in the match at the famous Parc des Princes.
During the closing moments of the Round of 16 first-leg encounter, Neto attempted to retrieve the ball quickly as Chelsea tried to continue play. In the process, he pushed a ball boy who was holding the ball on the sideline. The push caused the ball boy to fall back into a chair, briefly creating tension between players near the touchline. As a result, UEFA confirmed that the situation would be reviewed, leading to the ongoing Neto UEFA probe.
The Champions League clash ended in a difficult night for Chelsea as PSG secured a dominant 5–2 victory. Despite the dramatic scoreline and several key moments in the match, the ball boy incident quickly became one of the most widely discussed talking points. Neto later approached the young assistant to apologise and reportedly gave him his match shirt as a sign of goodwill.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior also spoke about the matter following the game. Rosenior apologised on behalf of the club if any action from the Chelsea side was considered inappropriate. He emphasized that respect and professionalism are core principles at the club.
On the field, PSG delivered an impressive attacking display under manager Luis Enrique. Goals from Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé helped the hosts build momentum early in the game. Chelsea briefly fought back through strikes from Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernández.
However, PSG eventually sealed the victory with a clever goal from Vitinha and two clinical finishes from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The result gives PSG a strong advantage heading into the second leg of the Round of 16.
