
The Atlas Lions of Morocco hve officially booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming Africa’s first representatives after a commanding 5-0 win over Niger in Rabat.
Niger, reduced to 10 men early in the match, could not withstand Morocco’s firepower. Ismael Saibari scored twice before halftime, while Ayoub El Kaabi, Ibrahim Igamane, and Azzedine Ounahi added second-half goals to complete the rout.
With this result, Morocco sealed a perfect qualification run of six wins from six matches, collecting 18 points to comfortably top Group E.
After their historic semi-final achievement at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Morocco are set to return to football’s grandest stage, carrying the hopes of Africa once again.
